Genève Aéroport: Visit of the new East Wing and fire station

  • Monday 16 May 2022 14:00-19:00
  • Aéroport de Genève, route de l’Aéroport 21, Le Grand-Saconnex
  • Organisation : CVCI, in partnership with CCIG

Designed for long-haul travellers and opened in December 2021, the East Wing building took 10 years to create. With an industrial aesthetic and 520m long, it can accommodate nearly 2800 passengers per hour at departures, and 3000 at arrivals.

The event will start with an introduction by André Schneider, CEO of Genève Aéroport, followed by a short presentation of AERIA+, an association promoting the presence of an efficient airport infrastructure as a mainstay of western Switzerland’s economy. The main presentation will be by Genève Aéroport, which surveyed international companies and produced a report on business travel and new passenger trends : how do passengers behave now that we are seeing the end of health restrictions ? Did companies have to rethink how they incorporate business travel into their strategy ?

After the presentation, join us for an exclusive visit to discover how the construction of the East Wing has been a major technical challenge, with tarmac on one side and buildings very close by on the other. The tour will include a visit of the airport's fire station and will end with a networking cocktail at the Swiss Chalet restaurant in the presence of André Schneider, CEO of Genève Aéroport.
